About the Virage

Born from a need to overcome a feeling of powerlessness in the face of the dominant economic system, the Virage Festival offers a forum for reflection on possible actions to contribute to the socio-ecological transition and a better world. It combines reflection and celebration in the heart of rural life! Virage is a hybrid festival, somewhere between an outdoor conference, socially engaged arts, and a large general assembly. It brings together researchers, professors, activists, elected officials, artists from various disciplines, organizations, children, and residents of rural communities... In short, it's a festive, creative, and enriching experience of dialogue and learning that unites people committed to the transition of our society. Virage was founded in Sainte-Rose-du-Nord in 2016. For the fourth consecutive year, the festival is being held in Petit-Saguenay. The festival brings the entire village to life for three days: from the shores of the fjord to the woods, passing through the heart of the village. Music, live performances, talks, workshops, panel discussions... The program unfolds across four themes: music, art, reflection, and family. The event maintains a small, intimate scale, with approximately 500 attendees. For more information: https://festivalvirage.ca/
