About the Festival du Voyageur
Festival du Voyageur is a French-language non-profit organization founded in 1969 that offers artistic and educational experiences inspired by the era of the voyageurs in 1815. Its annual winter festival, first held in 1970, takes place over ten days each February and has grown into the largest Francophone event in Western Canada, attracting more than 75,000 visitors each year. The festival showcases a wide range of artistic disciplines, including music, dance, sculpture, and visual arts, with a strong focus on Francophone and Indigenous artists. Family-friendly outdoor activities, live performances across multiple stages, historical interpretation, snow sculptures, traditional crafts, and local cuisine create a unique and immersive cultural experience.
